We look forward to seeing you at the AstraZeneca Evening Symposium
Asthma and COPD management: real world experience put into practice
Monday, September 26 at 17:15 –19:15
at the Auditorium, RAI Congress Centre, Amsterdam.
The panel of expert speakers will be discussing the implications of a range of topics on clinical practice.
In the opening presentation, Professor Peter Calverley will review changes in the management of COPD in recent years, by translating the evolving understanding this disease into clinical practice and highlighting new approaches to disease management. Professor Calverley will also discuss the current challenges and future directions in the management of COPD.
Professor Unnur Steina Björnsdottir will then review data on efficacy and patient adherence when switching from combination to monotherapy, particularly focusing on the cost-based switch from fixed-combination treatments to monotherapy components, as seen in some countries: is this a step forward or a step back?
Next, Professors Henderik Frijlink and Pascal Demoly will demonstrate the impact and contribution of device technology on the clinical effectiveness of inhalation therapy. This exciting presentation will include practical demonstrations linking physical science and respiratory device technology with clinical effects.
In the final presentation, Professor Dirkje Postma will talk about the recent update to the GOLD guidelines for COPD management, and how the changes will impact clinical practice.
At the end of the symposium, delegates will be given the opportunity to pose questions to the panel.
